About me
I am a prolific songwriting because the world around me moves me in deep ways. I grew up Northern California moving 17 times around between Petaluma, San Rafael, Eureka, McKinleyville, Ukiah, Crescent City, Redding, Anderson, Red Bluff. I began by writing poems which I began to set to my own music as a teenager. I began on piano, switched to guitar and 5 string banjo. I am totally self- taught. My first guitar was from the Blue Chip Stamps grocery stamps that her mother had saved up. Needless to say, that first guitar was practically unplayable, possibly made out of plywood! I bounced around in my "straight jobs" and couldn't sit still in college enough to get much accomplished. I've worked my "straight jobs" as a log scaler, fire fighter, surveyor assistant, motel maid, waitress. I recorded my first recording at Solar Tip recording studio in Blue Lake (Eureka) CA and played at Rose's Bar for the college crowds at Humboldt State University and clubs in town. I opened up for local bands Little Sick Dummies and Midnight Flyer. I started my original band “Lorelei” and was the guitar player and singer songwriter. I played in the Eureka area and LA with the drummer Eddie Fickett and Tim Gaines on bass. Playing clubs like Walts Friendly Tavern and The Rose. Later, my drummer and I moved to Los Angeles to play the Whiskey, the Troubadour and other LA clubs as well as Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco and The Cuckoo's Nest in Orange County and The Rock in Van Nuys, CA. I and my band opened up for Black Flag in the bay area and played Long Beach along with the Stingers, a local new wave band. I went on to continue to write and record and support myself with "straight jobs" until auditioning for a solo musician singer gig in Tokyo Japan and I opened a new club there. Coming back to LA the gigs that paid anything had pretty much dried up so I went to work and raised a family. After all of that the artist in me never left and I am back to playing and I never stopped writing. Contact me for original sets that I perform and cover sets as well. I have recently recorded some new material that you will hear on this website! You are never too old to be a woman artist!
